This section contains a list of course from Richard Bland College that are accepted for transfer to University of Mary Washington. This site is updated annually. Credit is awarded according to the matriculation date at University of Mary Washington. Some courses will transfer with reduced credit hours. The credits listed are the maximum credit University of Mary Washington will allow for the course.
If transferrable courses have been taken at the community college on the quarter system, these courses will be converted to semester hours. The formula used is: one quarter hour credit equals two-thirds semester hour credit.
Please note that these credit will be forfeited and removed from the record if the equivalent course or courses are completed at UMW or another institution (and transferred int UMW for credit).
When courses are listed as “XXXX-NOTMJ”, this means elective credit not in the major.
When courses are listed as “ELEC-NOTMJ”, this means elective credit in the “overall” total needed to graduate. DOES NOT apply or count in the major.
PLEASE NOTE that there are two columns, one for BA/BS students and one for BLS students. Please make sure you are looking at the correct list to know which courses will transfer into which degree programs.
