In addition to major program requirements and electives, all undergraduate students are required to complete the General Education program in effect when they matriculated. The General Education curriculum represents the College faculty’s intellectual consensus on that broad course of study which constitutes the foundation of a solid liberal arts education. As a part of the General Education program, students must also complete multidisciplinary curricular emphases. These Across-the-Curriculum or Intensive requirements can be filled by General Education courses, electives, or courses in the major. The same course may satisfy multiple requirements. These courses must be taken for graded credit; courses taken pass/fail do not satisfy General Education, Across-the-Curriculum or Intensive, or major requirements.
Students who have received transfer credit and wish to have it re-evaluated by the General Education Committee for general education use, should complete and submit the Request for Re-Evaluation form to the Office of the Registrar.
