Peer Academic Consultant Application

Position Description

Peer Academic Consultants (PACs) are undergraduate students who help assist their peers in developing successful academic study skills. They provide individual student consultations to develop a personalized plan related to the following academic skills: note-taking, textbook reading strategies, time management, creating study plans, test-taking tips, motivation, managing test anxiety, etc.  PACs develop and facilitate workshops related to academic skills and strategies and partner with various campus outlets (student organizations, FSEMs, residence halls,). They also provide representation at on-campus events to market PACs services.

Required Qualifications

Peer Academic Consultants (PACs) must have at minimum 3.0 cumulative UMW GPA and all majors are welcome to apply. Students need to be well-organized with strong interpersonal skills, be creative, able to problem-solve, and take initiative. PACs also need to demonstrate excellent academic study habits and have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

Starting Salary

$12.50/hr salary; 6-10 hours per week
