Eager to start your college career at UMW off on the right foot? Unsure what it entails to be successful in your academics? Come join your classmates to make connections and develop college level study skills. Through this interactive, discussion based workshop series, students will learn about various topics that are critical to their academic success.
Our Peer Academic Consultants will be facilitating hands-on workshops to include the following topics: best practices for managing your time, effectively using course syllabi and professor office hours, and developing efficient note taking and study prep techniques to help navigate college level workloads. Additionally, students will learn the importance of goal setting in college and will create personalized, achievable goals.
Fifteen spots are available and registration is required. Due to the developmental nature of the topics that will be discussed, attendance is mandatory for all four workshops. The workshop series will be held on Mondays 4:30-5:30 PM in HCC 328. The dates are:
