On Campus Supports

Utilizing on campus resources can assist throughout your time at UMW.  Below are areas ODR recommends students utilize as needed.

On Campus Resource Flyer

Academic Services

Academic Services provides students with advising assistance, peer tutoring, and peer academic consulting.  Peer Tutoring is offered through Walk-in hours, and small group.  Additional tutoring for Science and Math coursework is available through PASS (Peer-Assisted Study Session).  Peer Academic Consultants are student leaders, who assist their peers in developing academic skills necessary to become successful students.

Dining Services

Dining Services is available for one-on-one consults to discuss dietary needs and restrictions.  Please contact Rose Benedict at benedic@umw.edu, phone 540-654-2169.  Utilizing items such as the MyFitnessPal app and the Nutrition Calculator can assist with providing students and guests needed nutritional information.

Emergency Management and Safety

Emergency Management and Safety assists the UMW community in being prepared, mitigating, or responding to emergencies.

Multimedia Editing Lab & Vocal Booth at the HCC

The Multimedia Editing Lab (HCC 116) is a space that will enable students to begin editing projects that were recorded in the Production Studio next door, or that students have recorded elsewhere. There are five iMac computers with a full complement of audio and video editing software that are available to produce complex projects. An audio recording booth (the Vocal Booth) is available in this lab for recording “screencasts”, voiceovers, podcasts, or other small-scale audio recordings.

Parking Management

Parking Management is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient use of parking resources.  For information on accessible parking on campus and access to UMW issued accessible parking hangtags, please see Accessible Parking Information or contact Parking Management at 540-654-1129.
