Welcome to the ERC!
Our goal is to eliminate food insecurity within the UMW community by providing items at no cost to anyone who wishes to use our services anonymously.
When is it open?
The ERC is operating with a no-contact, online ordering system this fall. Please visit the online ordering website to place your order. The ERC staff will be in touch regarding when you can pick up your order. This is a confidential process, and there is no physical contact between you and others during pick-up.
In the spring semester of 2019, a survey was released among students in the university regarding their ability to access and purchase food. About 24% of people on our campus responded to say that they considered themselves “food insecure.”
The Eagle Resource Closet is an organization established for the UMW community by passionate students, faculty and staff. In the attic of Lee Hall, shelves are filled with food, toiletries, clothing and other necessities donated by faculty, staff, students and many others who wish to help our cause. Our main goal is to eliminate food insecurity within the UMW community by providing items at no cost to anyone who wishes to use the services anonymously. Volunteers may come to help organize, collect and take inventory of supplies, as well as help with the numerous projects that go on during the school semester.
