Honors Portfolios
The required Honors Portfolio is maintained in the Honors Workspace in Canvas and provides an opportunity for students to archive their work and track their intellectual growth through their years in the Honors Program. It consists of uploaded artifacts from Honors coursework and a series of short reflective essays on that work.
The portfolio thus serves many purposes:
For the student:
- provides a record of academic work that can be used to demonstrate personal and intellectual development
- allows for metacognition/reflection about your goals, career interests, and development
For the Honors Program:
- provides a means to monitor student progress
- allows for more holistic assessment and measurement of the effectiveness of the Honors Program
Contents of the Portfolio
Portfolios should be consistently maintained by the student and should meet annual requirements no later than the last day of classes in an academic year. Completion is assessed by Honors Program staff.
The portfolio must contain:
- At least one representative paper or assignment from each of the designated HN courses
- Final reflection from HONR 201
- Final reflection on leadership experience
- Final product from Capstone Project
- Graduating Senior Reflection (completed just prior to graduation)
