Upcoming Elections in Fredericksburg
The General Election for a range of offices including Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Virginia House of Delegates, and local offices will be held on November 4, 2025.

Here is a list of local candidates in Ward 2, and a list of the state-level candidates on the ballot for Ward 2 in the City of Fredericksburg.
Early in-person voting is available in the City of Fredericksburg at the Voting Registrar’s office, located at 601 Caroline St., 5th Floor, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
The following are important deadlines for the November 4, 2025 election:
- Early Voting at Office of Voter Registration and Elections: Fri Sept 19 to Sat. Nov 1st, Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM
- Deadline to register or make changes to existing voter registration: October 24, Office Remains Open to 5PM; 11:59 PM Online
- Deadline to request an absentee ballot mailed to you: October 24, Office Remains Open till 5PM, 11:59 PM Online
- Extended Early Voting Hours:
- October 15, office is open until 6:00 PM
- October 21, office is open until 6:30 PM
- Saturday Early In-Person Voting at Office of Voter Registration and Elections (Only 2 Saturdays): October 25th and November 1st, Voting Hours 9am-5pm
- Election Day: November 4th, Polls Open from 6am-7pm
Voting on Election Day:
Students living in UMW residential housing (Dorms, Eagle Landing, or University Apartments) and registered to vote at their campus address are in Ward 2 and will vote on Election Day at:
- Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St., Fredericksburg VA 22401
Students living across the street from campus in the College Heights Neighborhood are in Ward 3 and and will vote on Election Day at:
- Gladys West Elementary School, 1 Learning Lane, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
