Co–Facilitators: Adria Goldman, Leah Schweitzer, and April Wynn
Tired of Learning Outcome silos and repetitive work? This workshop offers suggestions for “re-vamping” and “re-pacing” your class to dovetail the assignments, using a cohesive strategy that blends critical thinking, oral communication, and writing to help students better understand topics, evaluate and synthesize information, and present information effectively. Through this workshop, you can take disparate parts of your syllabus/assignments/class activities and make them come together to integrate writing, speaking, research, and critical thinking with one another through multiple assignments over the course of the semester. Leah Schweitzer, April Wynn and Adria Goldman will provide assignment guides, sample rubrics, and feedback maps appropriate for the FSEM that are also easily modifiable to other courses. The hope is this will free up time and energy to lean into learning along with your students and reduce the grading and administrative burden that we know is real.
