Bryan Alexander Explores the Future of Higher Education

On Thursday, March 15th, Dr. Bryan Alexander of the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education, delivered a public lecture at the University titled, "The Visible College: Four Futures for Higher Education." During the presentation, Dr. Alexander led the audience through an examination of the impact of various emerging technologies and cultural trends. All of this led up to his unveiling of four possible futures for higher education, each one responding to these technologies and trends in various ways, from dismally dystopian to inspiringly optimistic. Faculty Academy 2012 Dates & Speakers

We're very excited to officially announce the dates and speaker lineup for this year's Faculty Academy on Teaching & Learning Technologies. The conference will be held on May 16 & 17 in Monroe Hall. Events will run from around 9:00a.m. until 5:00p.m each day. Please note that this is a new venue for Faculty Academy! Conference registration is now open, and our online call for proposals is also available. We encourage you to join us for two days of exploration and conversation. In particular, if you have a project, course, or idea to share, we hope you will submit a proposal! I'm pleased to also announce that we have our keynote speaker and guest presenters' lined up for the conference. Instructure will be hosting its first regional conference for Canvas users on October 27 in DC's National Harbor. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet the team behind Canvas and network with Canvas users from other east coast institutions that have adopted this new LMS.
