Chair Stephen Davies called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. in Trinkle B6.

New Business:

  • The Committee approved a proposal to change a department name from Department of Foreign Languages to Department of Modern Languages and Literature.
  • The Committee approved a proposal to revise the BLS Leadership and Management major.
  • The Committee approved a proposal to revise the M.Ed. Special Education General Curriculum program requirements.
  • The Committee approved a proposal to revise the M.Ed. Special Education Adapted Curriculum program requirements.
  • The Committee approved a proposal to revise the M.Ed., Special Education Adapted Curriculum  5 year pathway program requirements.
  • The Committee approved a proposal to revise the Anthropology major.
  • The Committee approved a proposal for a new course PHYD 106: Special Topics in Physical Education.
  • The Committee returned a proposal for a new course PHYD 306: Special Topics in Physical Education to the CAS Curriculum Committee.
  • The Committee approved a proposal for a new course HIST 441: Oral History.
  • The Committee approved a proposal for a new course HIST 387: Turkey from Empire to Republic.
  • The Committee approved a proposal for a new course ENGL 359: Transmedia Fiction.
  • The Committee approved a proposal for a new course EESC 000: Summer Research.
  • The Committee approved a proposal for a new course ANTH 365: Environment and Development Narratives.
  • The Committee approved a proposal for a new course ANTH 350: Amazonian Societies.
  • The Associate Provost asked the CAS Curriculum Committee Chair if he would consider requesting a special meeting of the CAS Curriculum Committee to reconsider the Data Sciences Minor proposal because of the simultaneous meetings of the CAS and COB Curriculum Committee meetings that occurred in November. The CAS Curriculum Committee Chair said he would present the matter to the CAS Curriculum Committee.
  • The Committee asked the Associate Provost to develop a revised plan for the meeting schedules in January/February.

The meeting adjourned at 4:41 p.m.
