Chair Stephen Davies called the meeting to order at 3:06 p.m. in Trinkle B6.

Old Business:

The following expedited proposals were approved as a result of the public comment period passing on February 12, 2013 without any question or objections.

  1. Delete the course EDUC 318.
  2. Delete the course EDUC 319.
  3. Delete the course EDUC 320.
  4. Delete the course EDUC 321
  5. Delete the course EDUC 322.
  6. Delete the course EDUC 323.
  7. Delete the course EDUC 324.
  8. Delete the course EDCI 511.
  9. Delete the course EDSE 511.

The following expedited proposals were approved as a result of the public comment period passing on February 15, 2013 without any question or objections.

  1. Change the prerequisites of CPSC 230.
  2. Change the prerequisites of MBUS 523.
  3. Change the title, description and prerequisites of MBUS 525.

New Business:

College of Arts and Sciences

  1. With the following modifications, the Committee approved a proposal for a new degree program Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): (a) Change tern pre-requisite to foundation in the section Rn-BSN Prerequisite Coursework; (b) Add CHEM 111 and 112 to Rn-BSN Foundation Coursework; (c) Decrease the number of credits of Open Electives in the Rn-BSN Foundation Coursework from 27 credits to 19 credits; and (d) Change CPSC 110 to BUAD 152 in the Rn-BSN Foundation Coursework.
  2. The Committee approved a proposal for a new course NURS 310: The Role of the Professional Nurse.
  3. The Committee approved a proposal for a new course NURS 320: Health Assessment for the Registered Nurse.
  4. With the modification of adding MATH 200 or equivalent as a prerequisite, the Committee approved a proposal for a new course NURS 410: Evidence Based Nursing Research.
  5. The Committee approved a proposal for a new course NURS 420: Community-Public Health Nursing.
  6. The Committee approved a proposal for a new course NURS 430: Current Nursing Issues and Trends.
  7. The Committee approved a proposal for a new course NURS 490: Advanced Practice Fieldwork.
  8. With the modification of adding BUAD 152 or equivalent as a prerequisite, the Committee approved a proposal for a new course NURS 510: Nursing Informatics.
  9. The Committee approved a proposal for a new course PHIL 430: Ethics, Environment, & Sustainability.
