UMW Faculty Game Camp
What are you doing to start your summer?
Join peers on a learning quest to explore game-based learning and the use of game theory in course design. Gather valuable resources and learn how to effectively integrate game-based learning to support student learning. Have fun at Game Camp!
Dr. Mary Kayler is an avid gamer and has integrated simulations, board games, and ‘serious games’ into her pedagogy. This spring she crafted a multiplayer course infusing game theory and gamification elements. She has conducted research on virtual gaming environments in relationship to bridging cultural understandings and has conducted numerous faculty development experiences on game-based learning.
Dr. Andre Livi Smith has integrated games like Jeopardy, scavengar hunts, and ‘the Amazing Race’ in her classes. One senior class even designed their own board game. Smith is a life-long gamer with particular experience in board games and so-called ‘serious games.’
