Do you want to add a stronger discussion component to your classes? Expand your repertoire of ways to run an effective discussion? Learn strategies for raising the quality of discussion? Get more students involved?
The Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation is pleased to present a workshop on leading great discussions with Marie McAllister (ELC).
The first half of the session will explore experts’ ideas on what makes for great discussion, practical ways to implement those ideas in our own classrooms, and Marie’s own experiences from twenty-five years of leading discussion. Then we’ll open things up for—what else?—some discussion about discussions: problems we’ve encountered, successful experiments we’ve tried, ways in which we might apply some of what’s been talked about, and more.
