January 2013 SI Faculty Lunch Workshop - Class Discussion

Have you wondered about what you can do during the first week of class to prompt better class discussion throughout the semester? In past SI workshops, I have talked about a first week exercise where the class develops expectations and guidelines for class discussion. At this workshop we will try it out and see how it works. Join us for a lunch workshop on Thursday, January 10th (the Thursday before Spring classes start) from 11:30-1:30 where we will role-play the first class meeting. We will also have time to debrief, discuss, and outline additional strategies for making the most of class discussion. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
