Funding For Study Abroad
All study abroad students are encouraged to learn about the funding options available to them to pay for their study abroad program. Please be aware that scholarship deadlines are often much earlier than deadlines for your study abroad program application. If you have any questions about how you can prepare to pay for your study abroad program, please come by our office. CIE works closely with the Financial Aid Office and hosts financial aid sessions each semester for students interested in financing their study abroad program with student loans.
Financial Aid
The following financial aid programs are available for study abroad: Federal Pell Grant, Federal Stafford Loans, Federal Parent Loans (PLUS), and alternative loans. To learn more about financial aid for study abroad, click here.
UMW Study Abroad Scholarships
Unless otherwise noted, UMW Study Abroad Scholarships use an online common application form, so you may apply for more than one scholarship at the same time. Please read the eligibility requirements for each scholarship carefully and apply only for scholarships for which you are an eligible candidate. The application form can not be edited once you submit it, so we suggest that you formulate the answers to the more lengthy questions, edit them, and then copy and paste into the online form. Scholarship deadlines are posted below. Click to APPLY NOW!
