Bryan Alexander Explores the Future of Higher Education

On Thursday, March 15th, Dr. Bryan Alexander of the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education, delivered a public lecture at the University titled, “The Visible College: Four Futures for Higher Education.” During the presentation, Dr. Alexander led the audience through an examination of the impact of various emerging technologies and cultural trends. All of this led up to his unveiling of four possible futures for higher education, each one responding to these technologies and trends in various ways, from dismally dystopian to inspiringly optimistic. His ideas and visions prompted a rich and nuanced conversation among the faculty, students, and administrators present.
