Accommodations and Supports
Students with disabilities at the University of Mary Washington (UMW) are encouraged to register with the Office of Disability Resources (ODR). ODR works to provide accommodations due to disability-related needs. Accommodations are determined for individuals with disabilities through review of documentation and interactive process with the student and ODR specialist. ODR also works to provide opportunities to develop self-advocacy and self-determination in our students, as well as training and consultation for administrators, faculty, and staff working with students with disabilities.
ODR works closely with campus partners to connect students with additional Campus Supports.
UMW DiversAbility is a recognized student club through the James Farmer Multicultural Center dedicated to creating an understanding and supportive environment for students with disabilities. All students are welcome to join.
