This assessment tool can help you explore careers, majors and more. Contact Career Services for a license code and follow the directions after clicking on the link above. You will create your own username and password. Enter the license code “XWD2UNY7” on the second page of the “create an account” section. All of the assessments are free for UMW students. Make sure to choose the option “Share results with Career Advisor” and schedule a follow up appointment with a counselor to interpret your results.

- Use your web of networks to contact a professional in your career field of interest.
- Meet with the faculty in your major to discuss options.

- Attend an alumni networking event on campus
EXPERIENCE THE CAREER
- Apply for an internship, either for academic credit or for the experience, and try the career out for a semester.
- Review the list of Externship Sponsors located in the Career Services Resource Room.
- Locate volunteer opportunities within your field of interest.
- A fun and efficient way to explore careers! Similar in nature to YouTube.
- Discover career fields you did not even know existed and learn what it takes to get there.
- Save your favorites to help guide your college and/ or career discussions with your parents and/or school educators.
- Use the advice to further educate yourself on your favorite careers, complete pre-requisites, and pursue job openings.
Career Search is a database of over four million organizations that can be searched by type and location. Use the site to locate organizations in your field by industry, location or key word. Identify company descriptions, contact information and profiles. Use the Salary Wizard to research pay rates for your industry.
