UMW senior, Dylan Gott, is one of four students in the country who received the 2012 GEICO Achievement Award. This financial award is bestowed on students who show academic excellence and who have demonstrated leadership experience. Eligible students must attend a 4-year accredited institution, be of sophomore or junior class standing, have at least a 3.0 GPA and be majoring in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.<br />
GEICO hosted an awards breakfast to honor these students achievement on Friday, June 8th at its Fredericksburg facility and was attended by Dean Lynne Richardson from the College of Business and Sarah Rogis from the Office of Career Services.<br />
Dylan is a double major in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems with a 3.11 cumulative GPA and will graduate in May 2013. He has earned Dean’s list multiple times, earned the UMW Scholastic Excellence Award in 2009, and is President-Elect of the UMW Entrepreneur Club.</p>
<p>Dylan has interned with the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance and Hillmer Inc., and this summer will intern at <img class="wp-image-42791 alignright" src="http://academics.umw.edu/careerservices/files/2012/06/images.jpg" alt="" width="195" height="113" />First Data. Dr. Christopher Garcia recommended Dylan for the award, saying “Dylan has demonstrated a very high degree of potential and has proven himself both in the classroom as well as in the real world.” Dylan says he will apply this award to his tuition next semester.<br />

<p><strong>BUSINESS ATTIRE REQUIRED</strong>.<br />
Cost of dinner is ONE MEAL SWIPE on your card.  You must present your ticket with your meal card when you arrive.</p>
<p><strong>You must bring your EagleOne card and ticket with you</strong>.<br />
Dinner will start promptly at 6:00pm.  Please arrive no later than 5:45pm for check-in and seating.<br />
If you DO NOT have a meal plan you must contact Katie Locke (klocke@umw.edu) prior to registering.  You will still be able to participate.</p>
<p>If you require a vegetarian meal, please contact Katie Locke (klocke@umw.edu) when you register.</p>
<p>If you must cancel, up to the day of the event, please contact Career Services at 540-654-1022.</p>
<p>Registering for this event constitutes your commitment to attend. The purpose of this event is to help you learn to conduct yourself professionally in the workplace and elsewhere. We would be remiss in our duties to you as students if we did not let you know that failing to attend any meal or other business (or social) appointment to which you commit, without calling to cancel, is considered extremely discourteous to other individuals.
